Mariana Ramírez

Mariana Ramírez was born and raised in Mexico City. She started her music studies at the National Conservatory of Music in Mexico and finished her undergraduate degree at Mason Gross School of Arts, at Rutgers University. Mariana is a percussionist, drummer and educator.

 

Mariana currently has the percussionist chair of the Hit Broadway show SIX and also subs the drum set book at  Six.  She also hold the percussion chair at the first National Broadway Tour of Once On This Island from 2019-2020. Mariana has subbed in percussion and drums other Broadway and Off Broadway shows such as Ain’t Too Proud, Head Over Heels, Once on this Island, Merrily We Roll Along and Fiddler in Yidish, among others.  Mariana has performed  with symphonic ensembles, bands and chamber music in halls such as the Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Radio City, Joe’s Pub, 54 below among many others around the world in Mexico, Europe, China and Japan.

 

Mariana is also passionate for education promoting Mexican traditions through music among Latin American communities. She is a teaching artists at Brooklyn Conservatory of Music and has collaborated with S’Cool Sounds, Bridge Arts Ensemble, School of Rock for Girls, Bronx Conservatory of Music, among many others.

 

Mariana is also the founder of the first all female percussion quartet in NYC called Excelsis. They are preparing for the 2023 season and just joined the roster of Ariel Artists.

 

Mariana is endorsed by Sabian, Pearl and Innovative Percussion.
